Have you ever wondered what it was like to look at the Earth from the outside in? With its unique approach, this documentary lets the audience experience an alien’s eye view of the most significant events that our planet has gone through in the past year. Using awe-inspiring satellite images to show the scale and impact of natural disasters such as the wildfires that swept through the Hollywood hills; the human struggles during the siege of Gaza and the ongoing conflict in Ukraine; but also the vibrant beauty and energy of 600 million people celebrating at the festival of the River Ganges.

Thom Humphreys was delighted to be asked back to edit the doc, after cutting the pre-titles for the 2024 edition. He loved working with someone as ‘amazing, kind, hard-working and talented as director Ben Harding’ on such a challenging project which leans heavily on the edit to build tension, humour and stories from footage that wasn’t shot for broadcast or with the purpose of telling a story.
