Champions: Full Gallop is back for a thrilling second series, and the stakes couldn’t be higher. Following the dramatic highs and lows of the jump racing season, the series takes viewers behind the scenes of the £500,000 David Power Jockeys’ Cup, capturing every twist, turn, and heart-stopping moment. There is all access drama from the Cheltenham Festival to the Randox Grand National, as the world’s top jockeys and trainers battle for glory. Familiar faces Harry Cobden, Sean Bowen, Harry and Dan Skelton, and Paul Nicholls return  joined by rising star Freddie Gingell, the teenage talent stepping into the big leagues.

Episode Two “The Comeback”, edited by Sean Schmolz (who also cut the pre-titles)  airs this Friday 24^th October 10.45 ITV and is the Time’s critics choice.

Further episodes include brilliant work from Jake Löfdahl (Episode 3 and finishing editor for Episode 5) and Huggy  (Episode 5). We chatted to Jake about the edit, and he said “South shore are a great company to work for, the people there are smart, committed and very good at what they do. For this season I was given a tricky episode to cut – it wasn’t exactly the biggest event on the racing calendar, but it became its own thing and looked into a side of horse racing which doesn’t get covered very often. I’m proud to have been a part of it, and hope this year goes at least as well as the last”.
