Gosh, award season really is here and some congratulations are in order! The nominations for the 2026 News and Documentary Awards have been announced and as always we’d love to congratulate our editors whose work has been mentioned.

After an acclaimed opening at Sundance Film Festival last year, “The Stringer”, the documentary investigating one of the most famous war photographs ‘Napalm Girl’ was edited by Graham Taylor and selected in FOUR separate categories including ‘Outstanding Investigative Documentary’.

“Operation Space Station” is a 2-part historical doc celebrating 25 years of operation for the International Space Station. Additional editing on this film by Maria Valente and Matt Scragg, it was produced by Blink Films and nominated in the ‘Outstanding Science and Technology Documentary’ category.

The heartwarming nature documentary “Secrets of the Penguins” was produced by Talesmith, edited by Kel McKeown and nominated in the ‘Outstanding Nature Documentary’ category.

A nod to Mnidhouse’s “Lockerbie” which was selected in the ‘Outstanding Lighting Direction: Documentary’ category and was edited by Charlie Hawryliw.

We look forward to find out the winners on 27th May 2026 and wish all nominees the very best! Congratulations!
