Amanda and Alan team up again as the world’s most unlikely fixer-uppers. Once again they bagged a one euro bargain house, this time a derelict 17th century building with a watchtower in an idyllic spot of northern Tuscany: Fornovolasco. Part renovation show, part travelogue, the series serves as a sunny slice of January escapism but the real draw is the hosts friendship which never fails to make the audience laugh and keeps them coming back episode after episode.
Sam Frostand Steve Flatt both worked on the new series, Sam cut episode 3 in which the team tackle Alan’s bedroom while Steve cut episode 7 which covers the biggest job: the watchtower!
Follow their DIY adventures every Friday at 8:30pm on BBC One. Hardhats mandatory!
Roy Williams has been editing James May shows for years and still loves to bring his adventures to life after over a decade. In the third season of his travelogue escapades, May invites his audience to discover the colourful and rich culture of India, with his usual educational fun facts and awkward willingness to immerse himself in the culture by trying everything!
Roy edited episode 2 in which May tours the capital: Delhi. This episode touches on a lot of Indian traditions but the one that Roy remembers best and found most fascinating was the ‘spectacular Ganga Aarti ceremony’ which is a magnificent evening ritual in Varanasi. We won’t spoil the surprise and recommend you watch the show to find out more about the fascinating cultural treasures uncovered in each episode.

24 Hours in Police Custody is back for an eleventh series. It’s critically acclaimed and more popular with audiences than ever. Robyn Wright started editing this two-part edition of the award-winning This World strand back in May. It looks back at the unsolved disappearance of 43 Mexican students in the infamous Iguala mass kidnapping incident in 2014.
On the evening of 26 September 2014, 43 students were attacked on their way to a protest in Mexico City. They were forced off passenger buses, never to be seen again. The young trainee teachers’ disappearance and the botched investigation which followed triggered protests and outrage in Mexico and abroad.
This documentary hears how federal investigators initially blamed corrupt local police and a local drug cartel for the attacks, but in the weeks and months that followed, civil unrest grew as the parents of the missing boys became increasingly suspicious of the official investigation.
Featuring survivors, families of the missing and exclusive interviews with Tomás Zerón De Lucio, the fugitive former head of the Mexican Criminal Investigation Agency (CIA) and Omar Gómez Trejo, the exiled former special prosecutor.
We spoke with Robyn about the challenges of the edit. She said that “It was a fantastic story to work on and something I feel proud to be a part of. The biggest challenge was to be working on something where 75% of the characters were Spanish speakers and I don’t speak Spanish. Also creating a structure that was based on a drama thriller genre for a story that was factual and stretched over nine years. Keeping it suspenseful and dramatic, was also quite challenging. And of course, schedules!”.
Part one of Disappeared: Mexico’s Missing 43 will be on Thursday 7th December 9pm on BBC Two.

The series includes archive and incorporates interviews with individuals closely linked to the disaster and the long investigation that followed it, including interviews with victims’ families, investigators, intelligence officers and other key figures who have not spoken until now. It explores unanswered questions to this complex story and investigates who is ultimately responsible.
